Frank G. Weatherford

Frank G. Weatherford, 82, of rural Pinckneyville died at 4:50 a.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2001 at his home.
Frank was born December 10, 1919 in rural Pinckneyville, the son of John P. and Mary Jane (Masnker) Weatherford. He married Laura Hays on December 13, 1949 in Pinckneyville, and she survives.
During his lifetime, he served with the U.S. Army in World War II, was a member of the Galum Presbyterian Church and First United Presbyterian Church, both of Pinckneyville. He was a member of the Perry County Farm Bureau and the Thresherman's Association. He enjoyed watching Cardinal baseball and old movies and enjoyed yard work.
Survivors include his wife, Laura, of Pinckneyville; a son, Gary of Pinckneyville; three daughters, Sharon Higgerson and husband Jim of Pinckneyville, Judy Riedel and husband Carl of Pasadena, Tex., and Cassandra Weatherford of Chicago; a brother, Robert of Pinckneyville; two sisters, Mary Jane Weatherford of Pinckneyville and Junabeth Brunson and husband Fred of Belleville; four grandsons, Joshua and Caleb Higgerson of O'Fallon, Tim Klein and wife Angie of Kirkwood, Ill., and Ron Klein and wife Teresa of LaPorte, Tex.; four great-granddaughters, Alex, Ashton, Tara and Tanya Klein; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Howard and John.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 31, 2001 at the First United Presbyterian Church of Pinckneyville with Rev. Tom Hobson officiating.  Interment was in the Murdale Garden of Memories in Murphysboro.
Friends called at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8 to 8:30 a.m. Monday, then from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
